ABOUT BCA
WHO WE ARE
OUR DIGITAL CAMPUS
CURRICULUM & PROGRAMS
BCA is a Christian school that helps students grow in their learning, their character, and their faith. We believe every student has a special purpose, and our goal is to help them discover it. Our school is a safe and welcoming place where students feel supported, respected, and encouraged to do their best.
Our teachers work hard to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. We focus on strong academics, good study habits, and real-life skills that prepare students for the future. We also teach values like kindness, responsibility, and leadership, because we want our students to make a positive difference in their homes, their community, and the world.
BCA is part of the long-standing work of Virgin Islands Missions, Inc., which has served families and communities for many years. Because of this strong foundation, we continue to grow, improve, and offer programs that help students succeed.
At BCA, we are more than a school. We are a family. We learn together, support each other, and celebrate each student’s progress. Our mission is simple: to help every child develop a strong mind, a strong heart, and a strong future.
The Story Our Uniform Tells
The Bethel Christian Academy uniform is more than coordinated colors—it is a daily expression of who our students are and what we believe. Every time a child puts on their winter‑green top and dark‑green bottoms, they step into a story of identity, purpose, and belonging.
A Standard of Excellence
Our uniform reflects a commitment to excellence in every area of life. It communicates that BCA students take pride in how they present themselves—academically, spiritually, and personally. The consistency of our colors reinforces the high expectations we hold for character, conduct, and achievement.
Unity and Belonging
Wearing the same uniform reminds students that they are part of one school family. It removes distractions and divisions, helping every child feel included, valued, and connected. The uniform symbolizes that at BCA, every student stands on equal ground and grows together in community.
Discipline and Purpose
A uniform teaches responsibility and intentionality. It encourages students to develop habits of order, preparation, and self‑respect—qualities that shape strong character and support lifelong success. Each day, the uniform becomes a simple but powerful reminder of the discipline we cultivate at BCA.
A Visible Expression of Faith
Our colors and logo represent the mission of Bethel Christian Academy: to nurture students in wisdom, knowledge, and a Christ‑centered worldview. When students wear the uniform, they carry that mission with them—on campus, in the community, and wherever their learning takes them.
Safety and Care
Uniforms help create a secure environment where every child is easily recognized and protected. They signal to families that BCA is a place where students are known, cared for, and watched over with intention.

Our Story: Bethel Baptist Day School to Bethel Christian Academy
Bethel Christian Academy (formerly Bethel Baptist Day School) is a ministry of Bethel Baptist Church and operates under the missionary arm of the church, Virgin Islands Missions, Inc. For more than half a century, the school has served as a place of refuge, opportunity, and Christian education for children across the Virgin Islands community.
---
A Legacy Born From Need
The school was founded in 1965 during a time when children of Eastern Caribbean migrant workers were legally prohibited from attending public schools. In response to this injustice, Bethel Baptist Church opened Bethel Baptist Day School to ensure these children received the education they deserved.
The school began with grades 1–4 and later expanded to grade 9. When laws changed and migrant children were allowed into public schools, enrollment declined sharply. Even so, the school remained committed to its mission, continuing to operate with primary grades and faithfully serving the Virgin Islands community for decades.

A New Chapter: Bethel Christian Academy
Today, the school is entering a new era. With a renewed vision, expanded programming, and a commitment to excellence, Bethel Baptist Day School has been rebranded as Bethel Christian Academy (BCA). This transformation reflects both our rich history and our forward‑looking mission.
Key elements of this new chapter include:
• A new location in Smith Bay, providing improved access and expanded space for learning.
• A new school uniform, symbolizing unity, excellence, and a refreshed identity.
• A transition to the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum, offering individualized, mastery‑based learning rooted in biblical principles.
• Integration of a Financial Literacy & Investing Program, giving students from kindergarten through 8th grade a strong foundation in money management, stewardship, and long‑term financial responsibility.
• A strengthened Afterschool Program, designed to support families with academic assistance, enrichment activities, and structured care—with the goal of making it free for all BCA students.
These changes reflect our commitment to preparing students academically, spiritually, socially, and financially for the world they will inherit.

Our Educational Philosophy
Bethel Christian Academy exists to provide the best educational opportunity for every child within reach of its ministry. We believe:
• All children can learn when taught at a pace and in a manner suited to their individual needs.
• Education should help students become God‑oriented, self‑directed individuals capable of achieving personal goals while contributing positively to society.
• Students must grow in their ability to respect themselves and others, understand people, and think clearly.
• Strong communication skills, appreciation for culture and nature, concern for health and safety, and economic self‑sufficiency are essential outcomes of a complete education.
• Moral, ethical, and spiritual values are central to a balanced and effective educational experience.
Our primary purpose is to train each student in the knowledge of God and the Christian way of life, while providing an excellent academic foundation built on strong basic skills and spiritual values.

Our Educational Features
Bethel Christian Academy offers a dynamic, future‑focused learning model that blends the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum with live, teacher‑led instruction through BCACampus, powered by the BCALink Learning Engine. Students engage with their teachers in real time through BCALive virtual classrooms, guided discussions, and structured lessons, while completing their individualized, Bible‑based PACEs through their personal A.C.E. accounts. This mastery‑driven approach ensures that every child progresses with confidence, clarity, and strong academic support.
Beginning in kindergarten and continuing through 8th grade, students also participate in our Financial Literacy curriculum. This program equips students with essential skills in money management, saving, investing, and long‑term financial stewardship—empowering them to build generational stability and make wise, faith‑rooted decisions about their future.
To further support families, BCA is expanding Afterschool as a major initiative, providing a safe, enriching, and structured environment where students receive academic support, character‑building activities, and extended learning opportunities. Our long‑term goal is to make this program free for all BCA students, ensuring that every family has access to high‑quality after‑school care without financial barriers.
Together, these elements create a blended, holistic educational experience that nurtures each student’s academic growth, spiritual development, and financial readiness—whether they are learning on campus or online.
Whole-Child Philosophy
At BCA, the **4Hs—Heart, Head, Hands, and Health—**serve as the foundation of our whole‑child philosophy, shaping students academically, spiritually, socially, and physically. Through the A.C.E. curriculum, we strengthen the Head with mastery‑based academics, the Heart with Christlike character and biblical truth, the Hands with service and practical skills, and Health with habits that honor God and support lifelong well‑being. The addition of the Financial Literacy curriculum deepens this framework by equipping students with financial wisdom, decision‑making skills, and real‑world readiness, ensuring that every learner is prepared to flourish in life, leadership, and faith.
Preschool at BCA: A Strong Beginning for Lifelong Success
At Bethel Christian Academy, Preschool is intentionally integrated into our K–8 program to give children a strong, consistent foundation from their very first school experience. By beginning within BCA, our youngest learners benefit from a nurturing, Christ‑centered environment where early literacy, character formation, and the 4Hs—Heart, Head, Hands, and Health—are introduced with care and purpose. This continuity allows children to grow within one stable community, supported by teachers who understand their developmental needs and guide them smoothly into kindergarten and beyond. Families appreciate the security of a unified school experience, and students gain the confidence, routines, and spiritual grounding that prepare them for long‑term success at BCA and in life.
BCACampus: The Heart of BCA’s Digital Learning Environment
BCACampus is Bethel Christian Academy’s unified digital learning hub — the central place where students, teachers, and families stay connected to instruction, progress, communication, and community. As part of BCA’s transformation into a twenty‑first‑century education center, BCACampus brings together curriculum, technology, and Christian values into one seamless, accessible platform.
BCALink: Learning, Connected
Connecting Students, Teachers, and Learning—Anywhere
BCALink is BCA’s mobile and web‑optimized access point to BCACampus, designed to make high‑quality Christian education accessible, engaging, and seamless for every student. Built around the BCALink Learning Engine, the platform integrates live instruction, mastery tracking, communication tools, and individualized pacing to support students whether they are learning on campus or online.
A Unified Learning Experience
- BCALink serves as the central hub where students meet with their teachers, access lessons, and stay connected to their academic progress. Through live virtual classrooms and structured digital tools, students experience real‑time instruction, guided discussions, and teacher‑led activities that mirror the support of an in‑person classroom. Every learner receives consistent, high‑touch engagement no matter where they are.
Powered by the BCALink Learning Engine
At the core of BCALink is a system designed to organize and streamline the entire learning experience:
- Live Instruction Management Schedules, virtual classrooms, and teacher‑student interactions are coordinated for smooth, reliable access to daily lessons.
- PACE Progress Tracking Students’ A.C.E. coursework is monitored in real time, giving teachers immediate insight into mastery, pacing, and areas needing support.
- Individualized Learning Tools The engine adapts to each student’s progress, helping them move confidently through their PACEs while maintaining accountability and structure.
- Communication and Support Messaging, announcements, and teacher feedback are centralized, keeping students and families informed and connected.
This integrated approach eliminates the fragmentation often found in online learning and replaces it with a clear, organized pathway that supports both academic excellence and spiritual growth.
Seamless Integration with A.C.E. Curriculum
- BCALink works hand‑in‑hand with the Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum. Students complete their Bible‑based, mastery‑driven PACEs through their individual A.C.E. accounts, while BCACampus provides the live instruction, guidance, and accountability that enrich the learning process. This combination ensures students receive both the independence of mastery learning and the relational support of teacher‑led instruction.
Designed for Flexibility and Stability
- Whether a student is learning from home, traveling, or attending classes on campus, BCALink ensures that their education remains uninterrupted. Lessons, assignments, and communication tools are always accessible, giving families confidence that learning continues smoothly in every season.
BCALive: Real‑Time Learning, Real‑Time Connection

- Live lessons
- Group discussions
- Teacher‑led activities
- Virtual office hours

These platforms reinforce responsibility, discipline, and spiritual growth while giving students the structure and tools they need to thrive academically.
- BCA’s digital transformation is more than technology — it’s a commitment to excellence, access, and the future of Christian education.
A.C.E. at BCA: A Pathway for Every Learner
At Bethel Christian Academy, we use A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Education) because it provides a learning pathway that honors each child’s pace, strengths, and God‑given potential. Our A.C.E. program is built on the belief that students thrive when they are guided, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. Through individualized work, mastery‑based progress, and consistent character development, A.C.E. helps students grow in confidence while building strong academic foundations.
Students work through carefully structured goals each day, supported by teachers who know them well and celebrate their progress. The program allows learners to advance as they master concepts—not simply as they move through grade levels—ensuring that no child is left behind and no child is held back. With a balance of independence, accountability, and personal encouragement, A.C.E. helps students develop discipline, resilience, and a love for learning that extends far beyond the classroom.
How A.C.E. Supports Kindergarten at BCA
Kindergarten at BCA is a gentle, joyful introduction to the A.C.E. approach. Our youngest learners are guided through early literacy, numeracy, and character‑building skills in a nurturing environment that feels safe, warm, and structured. Kindergarten uses A.C.E. in a developmentally appropriate way:
- Hands‑on learning blended with early A.C.E. materials
- Short, focused activities that match young attention spans
- Strong teacher guidance to build routines and confidence
- Foundational character lessons that shape heart and habits
- Early goal‑setting skills introduced in simple, age‑appropriate ways
This early exposure helps children transition smoothly into the full A.C.E. program in first grade. By the time they move into the Learning Center, they already understand the rhythms of goal cards, work habits, and the joy of mastering new skills.
Kindergarten becomes the bridge—where curiosity, structure, and Christian character begin to take root.
At BCA, A.C.E. is more than a curriculum. It is a nurturing environment where students learn to set goals, manage their time, and grow in character as they grow in knowledge. It is one of the ways we prepare children to lead with heart, think with clarity, and walk confidently into the future God has prepared for them.
The Financial Literacy Curriculum at Bethel Christian Academy:
Building Financially Literate Kids for a Financially Literate Society
Bethel Christian Academy is committed to preparing students not only for academic success, but for life. As part of that mission, BCA integrates a Financial Literacy & Investing Program, into our curriculum from 1st Grade through 8th grade. This groundbreaking program equips students with the language, tools, and confidence to understand money, make wise decisions, and build a foundation for long‑term financial stability.
A Curriculum That Starts Early and Grows With Students
Beginning in the earliest grades, students explore age‑appropriate financial concepts that grow in depth and complexity as they mature. From understanding needs versus wants and the basics of saving in 1st Grade, to exploring investing, risk, and long‑term planning in middle school, students develop a practical, real‑world understanding of how money works. The curriculum is built around four key strands: Personal Finance, Economics, Entrepreneurship, and Investing, giving students a comprehensive framework that many adults never had the chance to learn.
Hands‑On Learning That Makes Finance Real
Learning is active and hands‑on. Students engage in real‑world scenarios, simulated investment activities, goal‑setting exercises, and projects that connect financial literacy to everyday life. These experiences help students see money not as something mysterious or intimidating, but as a tool they can manage with wisdom and confidence.
A Program Rooted in Stewardship and Responsibility
At BCA, financial literacy is taught through a Christian lens. Students learn that stewardship, discipline, and generosity are essential parts of managing God’s blessings. This Educational Framework aligns naturally with our mission to develop students who are academically strong, spiritually grounded, and prepared to lead with integrity.
Preparing Students for a Stronger Future
Financial literacy is one of the most important life skills a child can develop. By introducing these concepts early and reinforcing them consistently, BCA helps students build healthy financial habits, understand long‑term planning, make informed decisions, and break cycles of financial instability. This program is more than a curriculum—it is an investment in each child’s future.
Part of a Larger Vision for Student Success
This Educational Framework works hand‑in‑hand with BCA’s blended learning model, the A.C.E. curriculum, and our expanding Afterschool initiative. Together, these programs create a holistic educational experience that supports students academically, spiritually, socially, and financially.
Afterschool at BCA
Afterschool at Bethel Christian Academy is designed to give students a safe, structured, and enriching place to learn and grow beyond the regular school day. Our program provides a balance of academic support, hands‑on activities, and character‑building experiences that strengthen the Heart, Head, Hands, and Health of every child. Students receive help with homework, participate in creative projects, enjoy supervised play, and build positive relationships in a caring environment. As we continue to expand this initiative, our long‑term goal is to make Afterschool accessible to all BCA families, ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, explore, and thrive in a supportive space that reflects our values and mission.
